As more schools adopt technology aid for student learning, various resources, platforms, and programs have been developed over the decades. Now, digital reading tools are utilized in many different educational K-12 settings to improve student reading and literacy skills. In this post, I will introduce interactive reading apps and websites.

1. Epic 

  •  Epic! is a digital library for kids that offers access to thousands of high-quality books, audiobooks, and educational videos. It includes interactive features like quizzes and reading challenges.





2. Raz-Kids

  • Raz-Kids provides a vast collection of interactive eBooks at 29 different levels of reading difficulty. It offers features like audio support, comprehension quizzes, and more.




3. Reading Rockets


  • Reading Rockets is an excellent resource for educators. It offers strategies, lesson plans, and interactive tools to support reading instruction for all ages.







4. ReadWorks

  • ReadWorks offers a vast collection of reading comprehension passages, lessons, and resources for educators to support reading instruction.

1. My Storybook

  •  An online platform for creating personalized stories with custom text and illustrations.




2. StoryBird

  • Storybird allows students to create their own digital stories using artwork and illustrations. It promotes creativity and storytelling skills.




3. Storyline Online

  • A website featuring videos of celebrities reading children's books, promoting literacy and storytelling.








Digital learning platforms are widely recognized, popular, and utilized across numerous educational institutions and settings. While there are ongoing debates about the efficacy of technology in student learning, if instructors employ these tools thoughtfully, with detailed planning and adequate preparation, they can significantly enhance student learning outcomes.
